FOO FIGHTERS To Begin Work On New Album
September 30, 2019FOO FIGHTERS are preparing to record a brand new album.
During the group's headlining set at Brazil's Rock In Rio festival on Saturday (September 28),FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl revealed that he and his bandmates were going to start recording the follow-up to 2017's "Concrete And Gold" once they got back to California.
"I don't know when we'll be back down here again, but we will," Dave told the crowd. "We go home next week and we start making a new FOO FIGHTERS record. It's good, it's good."
Last week, FOO FIGHTERS released another surprise EP titled "01070725". It features five songs — a mixture of live cuts, demos and familiar FOO FIGHTERS numbers — and can be found now on most streaming services.
The EP is the second released by the band this month and third in recent months. The week before, the FOO FIGHTERS unveiled an EP titled "00050525 Live In Roswell", containing a June 18, 2005 concert the band played in Roswell, New Mexico, where a UFO allegedly crashed in 1947.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, the group shared that EP to mark "Storm Area 51 Day," which took place on September 20 and saw several hundred conspiracy theorists assemble at the gates of the famously secretive airbase.
Back in July, FOO FIGHTERS issued a surprise live EP titled "00950025". The three-song effort featured three hard-to-find tracks, namely performances of "For All The Cows" and "Wattershed" from the band's headline set at 1995's Reading festival, as well as a live recording of "Next Year" from a 2000 concert in Melbourne, Australia.
That first EP arrived one day after the 24th anniversary of the release of the debut FOO FIGHTERS album on July 4, 1995, and was reportedly the first in a series of such releases from the band's archives — possibly tied into the FOO FIGHTERS' upcoming 25th anniversary.
